"To many, the words love, hope, freedom and dreams are synonymous with horses."

Classical training is the systematic education of the horse beginning with the basic scales of training:
  • Relaxation
  • Rhythm
  • Contact
  • Straightness
  • Impulsion
  • Collection
Classical riding is correct riding, it is complete horsemanship not only riding but also understanding the horses psychology and physiology. Working within, not against the horses natural ability to enhance its beauty.

Please watch the video below it sums up the horses spirit and beauty in today's competition world.

"Preserve his natural gaits, preserve his personality.
Preserve his instinct to go forward. Do this and you must be successful because you are respecting natures wisdom."

Training:

My training principles are based on classical lines. Classical riding is often referred to as an art and when applied properly the horse and rider combination is a pleasure to watch, moving gracefully and seamlessly as one, without force. This, combined with the application of modern equine science, bio-mechanics and equine behaviour forms the basis of my teaching, as only by understanding your horse both physically and mentally can you find true partnership.

I treat every rider and horse as an individual and my aim is to encourage and support both, enabling them to communicate and work as a team to unlock their potential, whilst keeping the work enjoyable and appropriate to their development, the emphasis being on the  correct not flashy. For example I might include pole exercises, lunging and stretch exercises to enable your horse to work to optimum performance.

I teach all levels and disciplines, but have particular empathy with novice and nervous riders, and riders who want to develop a true partnership with their horse. Training can be delivered to suit your needs, individual, shared or group lessons as required.

Also available before your lesson is the equissage machine to help relax and loosen your horse up and prepare for work.
